Users screen new senders before messages enter the Imbox, while newsletters route into The Feed and receipts move into the Paper Trail for structured email workflows.

HEY is built for professionals, founders, small businesses, and teams that manage high email volume and want more control over communication workflows. HEY for Domains adds shared threads, team comments, centralized billing, and custom domain management for collaborative business email operations.

HEY requires first-time senders to pass through The Screener before future emails reach the Imbox. Users decide whether to allow, reject, or categorize each sender, creating a permission-based workflow that filters unwanted outreach and low-priority communication.

HEY includes a built-in calendar with scheduling, journaling, daily notes, and event management tools. The calendar integrates directly into the email environment so users can manage meetings, reminders, and written notes without switching platforms.

HEY routes newsletters and subscription emails into a dedicated area called The Feed. The Feed displays newsletters in an already-open reading format with chronological scrolling, separating promotional content from active conversations and reducing inbox interruptions.

HEY for Domains supports collaborative email workflows through thread sharing, private team comments, and shared extensions like support@ or sales@ addresses. Teams can manage ongoing conversations together without relying on forwarding chains or fragmented CC workflows.

HEY blocks tracking pixels that monitor email opens, location activity, and engagement behavior. The platform also requires two-factor authentication for paying users and supports hardware security keys, encrypted databases, and audited access controls for account security.

HEY for Domains supports custom business domains for sending and receiving email. HEY also supports SMTP sending from external addresses, allowing users to send messages from work accounts or domains hosted outside the HEY infrastructure.

HEY includes Reply Later workflows that move emails into a dedicated response queue for focused follow-up sessions. Users can also use Bubble Up to temporarily remove emails and automatically return them to the top of the Imbox at a scheduled time.
